This post is aimed specifically at those of you who DO NOT bundle internet, television, and/or home phone service and are only paying for internet service. How much do you pay for internet and for what speeds? Who is your provider and what is your city of internet service?
I’m asking because I pay $43 for only internet by AT&T for 3.0mbps. This is some serious horseshit.

That’s basically American Internet in a nutshell. Pay too much for too little speed.
I was paying about $40 for Comcast with similar speed a few months ago, but that was both renting the router (bad move, I know) and on a special first year rate.

I pay $20 for 0.5 mbps, but really get more like 0.3

I don’t really have a city though, I’m sorta in the boonies

I remember paying $20 for .768 mbps back in 2007. lmao

“If you aren’t bundling, we certainly hope you will enjoy getting fucked in the ass! Thanks for choosing AT&T or Comcast!”
we literally have the highest dollar to mbps ratio out of the world.

If you move into my apartment you get like 80gbps for $390 a month (that is including rent). Must do dishes.

10-year cord cutter here. I have crapcast (Comcast) currently, but am in a “Fiberhood” and have aligned myself over the last several years with the Google E-cosystem. I pay $49 a month for 50 down and 12 up. And i am in middle Tennessee, southeast of Nashville, which is ATT and Comcast lobbyist territory.

Yeah, we’re still stuck in 2007 here technologically haha, mentally though it’s more like 1983.

We saved our computer files for school on floppy disks until 2010. I shit you not.

Denver, Comcast, and it was like $90 a month for just cable internet until I added basic cable (which isn’t even hooked to my tv) and it’s now...$75, maybe? It’s ridiculously stupid. But I live in a poor neighborhood and better options aren't really available.

I pay rougly $55/month for what is supposed to be 30/10, but is usually about half of that. I have Comcast, and I hate myself a little bit every day for it.

Yikes. That stinks!!!

This is amazing. The last time I saw a floppy disk was in 2011, used for my high school’s auditorium sound board and lights.

That is so CG it hurts.
![]() 06/10/2015 at 23:18 |

That’s amazing value compared to the rest of the States!

Our high school auditorium’s sound board uses vacuum tubes. Like I seriously wish I was kidding about all this, but literally everything we have is ancient. The last time the school had any kind of renovation at all was 1985.

our household pays $65 a month for mbps from cox. :) I am really happy with that

How many mbps?

I pay $43 a month for 6mbps through Frontier in Lafayette, IN. Usually is good service, the modem/router sucks a lot, and the connections gets all junked up when torrents are running.
Unfortunately, there’s a complex about 8 miles down the road that has entirely fiber. 100mbps for $60, gigabit for $100. When bundled, you can get 200mbps and TV for $70. I want to move so badly...
![]() 06/10/2015 at 23:27 |

Pretty good for half! LOL

I live in Pullman, southeast WA and pay Time Warner $75/mo for 50 down/5 up (Mbps), and achieve those speeds all the time. I also live with 2 other people, so I only ever pay $25 for internet because we split the bill. Come August the price will double since we got a promotional rate, but I think I can convince them to lower my bill by threatening to switch providers.
The only reason I get great internet is because my college is in town and there are a lot of students with limited income, so TW lowers their price a little to get more customers.

idk about the CG. Wanna see the video to it?
![]() 06/10/2015 at 23:29 |

OH MY GOD. A GIGABIT FOR $100? FUCK THE TV. GO FOR THE GIGABIT.
![]() 06/10/2015 at 23:32 |

You’ve never had any issues with connectivity at all as well? If they don’t lower your bill when you tell them that you will no longer need their service, I’d let them know that what an inconvenience it’s been to have intermittent connectivity issues.
Otherwise, you could try disconnecting your relationship and try to make a new one for a new promotional rate LOL
![]() 06/10/2015 at 23:37 |

It used to be kinda rocky, but the problems have straightened out over the past month and a half. I’m going to cancel the service and get that sweet, sweet promotional rate again

It’s not even in that video, and the FR-S has ABS as standard so what’s being shown in the gif shouldn’t even be possible.
![]() 06/10/2015 at 23:52 |

oops. wrong video! ABS doesn’t stop the car from drifting, traction control does. And T/C can be turned off.

I pay Comcast $35/month for 100/10 service in Houston . (note: promotional rate, so I will have to actually deal with calling them at some point and threatening to leave to keep it from going to $45). I also own my own modem, so I’m not paying the normal $10/month or whatever for that.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 00:03 |

The rear wheel is completely locked in the gif. See how it’s not spinning? That’s a car without ABS.
And the camera shake is way too artificial.

I’m in Seattle and paying $78.95/mo for Comcast “Performance” Internet by itself. I can’t seem to find the advertised download and upload speeds, but quick online tests suggest a download speed of 16-20 Mbps and an upload speed of 8-12 Mbps.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 00:29 |

You can actually get a gigabit for $70 where I live if you are in a “fiberhood”. What’s even more surprising is that I live in Mississippi, renowned technology capitol of the world.

You can actually get a whole gig for $70 a month where I live. Which is somewhat surprising considering I live in Mississippi, renowned technology capitol of the world.

lol typo 100 down/15up. Of course i never really see that i normally get around 30mbps

at&t used to have a dsl package for $10/mo. - 1.5/0.378ish. I worked from home, had to stop browsing the internet when I used my voip phone. But $10/mo. (time warner had 35/5 at that time i believe)

I pay $40 per month for something like 50 down and 10+ up. They say it should be faster than that as well. I have Oceanic Time Warner in Honolulu.

Charter. $65/month for 40 Mbps.

Shut the hell up!!! That’s amazing! What part of Houston are you in? I am on the northwest side at beltway 8 and 249. God damn that’s a fabulous deal! What modem do you use?
![]() 06/11/2015 at 06:06 |

The price seems a little on the high side, but quite a nice speed though.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 06:10 |

That is pretty good speed for the price!

$66.95/month for 25/5 from Comcrap. I own my own modem.
It was $59.95/month two years ago, but the Comcastic price increases started.

Just south of West University. I have a Motorola 6121 (same as what Comcast issues in my area), though I’d probably get a 6141 if I were buying today (can pretty regularly be found for <$80, so it will pay for itself in under a year).
Current bandwidth test shows 99.74/9.81, so they are delivering what they advertized. The connection occassionally has problems and drops out, but while very annoying, definitely happens less than once a month.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 10:04 |

2 things
1) That’s a handbrake. That’s why the fronts keep spinning
2) You can tun off ABS in an FR-S with the
pedal dance

My thoughts exactly.

$30 a month for Charter and we get around 40 mbps down and 16 mbps up. We could have had more, but our modem wasn’t up to the task, the router was, but hey pinch points you know. I believe we are paying for up to 60 mbps.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 16:48 |

Sorry $60 a month for 60 mbps

Chicago - AT&T U-Verse - $59 + taxes - 45Mbps

I’m in Whitby, Ontario. I’ve been with Bell for the last while paying $55/month for 5.0mbps down, and 0.8mbps up, plus another $30 for unlimited usage, totalling (with tax) around $97/month. Found out I was paying the most out of my co-workers with the lowest speeds, so I’m switching this week. The new internet is being installed later today.
The new internet is with VMedia, and it’s 6mbps down, 0.8mbps up, and unlimited usage for $29.98/month. With taxes and extra things it’s going to be around $42/month.

I live 10 miles east of prawns, so we have the same people for TWC, and while we bundle ($120/mo for tv, dvr, and internet) our speed we supposedly get is 30 down and 5 up, but I actually regularly see 34 down and about 5.7 up on speedtest.net
